Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla ask after the health of Chief Patron Sayadaw of Maha Wizitayon Pariyatti School, Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay and Sayadaw of Maha Gandayon Monastery, attend to their needs, and pay homage to Shwekyeemyin Pagoda

Chief Patron of Maha Wizitayon Pariyatti School, Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay Region, State Ovadacariya Sayadaw Abhidhija Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhija Maha Saddhamma Jotika BhaddantaVicarindabhivamsa (age 97, vasa 77) was receiving medical treatment at the Military Hospital in Pyin OoLwin. As  the Sayadaw has recovered from illness, he is now staying at Maha Wizitayon Pariyatti School. Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and the entourage, paid respects to the Sayadaw this morning.

First, the Senior General and wife and party inquired about the healthcare services provided for the Sayadaw. Officials explained the health condition of the Sayadaw. In response, the Senior General said in providing healthcare for the Sayadaw, constant watch on the health condition of the Sayadaw must be conducted to fulfil the requirements in time. He spoke of the need to constantly care about the personal hygiene of the Sayadaw and to help him to do regular physical exercise. The Senior General also looked into other requirements.

The Senior General and wife donated offertories, medical equipment, bird nest supplements, food and cash to the Sayadaw, and paid respects to him.

Afterwards, the Senior General and wife and party arrived at Maha Gandayon Monastery in Amarapura Township, south of Mandalay and paid respects to Chief Patron of the monastery Abhidhija Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Indob hasabhivamsa (age 93, Vasa 73). They then asked after the health of the Sayadaw and urged officials to provide healthcare services for the Sayadaw in all seriousness.

The Senior General and wife presented offertories, medical supplies, bird nest supplements, food and cash to the Sayadaw, who in return presented Dhamma gifts to them.

The Senior General and wife and party accepted the Five Precepts, shared the merits gained and paid respects to the Sayadaw.

At Shwekyeemyin Pagoda, the Senior General, wife and party paid homage to Buddha images from all over the country including Anyathihataw Buddha Image, Shwekonoak Buddha Image, Myatheindan Buddha Image, Shwelinpin Buddha Image, and Shwekyeemyin Buddha Image that were revered by the successive ancient dynasties and that were placed in the cave of the pagoda. They offered flowers and water to the Images.

The Senior General and wife presented cash donations for multiple sectors of the pagoda through the chair of the pagoda board of trustees.

The Senior General gave guidance to systematically preserve the Myanmar traditional fine art sculptures in the cave and enforce proper rules for the pilgrims to the cave. He also looked into the requirements.

The Senior General signed the visitors’ book of the pagoda, observed the gilding project of the exterior surface of the pagoda and offered flowers, water and lights to the pagoda.

The Senior General visited the religious edifices in the pagoda compound and looked into the requirements of officials.
