Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing receives Humanitarian Leader and Peace Envoy of India Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min  Aung Hlaing received Humanitarian Leader and Peace Envoy of India Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at the Credentials Hall of State Administration Council Chairman’s Office here this morning.

Also present with the Senior General were SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, SAC member Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, union ministers U Than Swe and U Tin Oo Lwin. The Humanitarian Leader and Peace Envoy of India was accompanied by the delegation members.

During the discussions, the Senior General expressed pleasure to welcome the visit of a prominent person, who is applying multiple means for global peace, to Myanmar. He said the visit of the Humanitarian Leader and Peace Envoy of India is to provide help to the most possible degree for ensuring peace and prosperity in Myanmar. The Senior General also expressed pleasure and honour for holding a meeting with him.

Afterwards, views on Myanmar’s political developments throughout the successive eras from the time the country regained independence till today, ethnic armed conflicts broke out together with independence because of the seeds of distrust sowed by external elements and endeavors for internal peace throughout the successive eras, the country’s initiation of democracy road in 2011 and the Tatmadaw’s assumption of State duties due to vote rigging in 2020 multiparty general election, occurrence of terrorism through the disturbances broke out due to disagreements, SAC’s endeavours for national peace, stability and progress, assistance and involvement of the Humanitarian Leader and Peace Envoy of India for peace in world countries, possible assistance for Myanmar’s peace and stability, and ongoing preparations for holding a free and fair multiparty democracy general election in Myanmar were cordially exchanged.

After the meeting, Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Humanitarian Leader and Peace Envoy of India Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar exchanged commemorative gifts and posed to group documentary photos.

The Senior General showed the Humanitarian Leader and  Peace Envoy of India paintings in the Hall of Honor of the State Administration Council Chairman’s Office.
