A high-level Myanmar delegation led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing left Nay Pyi Taw Tatmadaw Airport by special flight this morning to pay an official goodwill visit to Russian Federation at the invitation of President H.E. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.
The Senior General and delegation were seen off at the airport by Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, the SAC Secretary General Aung Lin Dway, SAC members, union ministers, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander, and officials of Russian Embassy in Myanmar and Military Attache Office.
Together with the Senior General, members of the delegation, SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, SAC member General Nyo Saw, union ministers U Than Swe, Admiral Moe Aung, Dr Kan Zaw, U Ko Ko Lwin, Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, deputy ministers, military and civilian officials, left the airport on the same flight.
During the visit, meetings will be held with Russian government officials including President
of Russian Federation H.E. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the Prime Minister of Russia, speakers of Russian parliaments, and the talks will be centred on further promotion of strategic cooperation in friendship, economy, security affairs and multiple sectors between the governments and peoples of the two countries.
The delegation led by the Senior General arrived at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow in the evening at local time and were welcomed by Minister of Economic Development of Russia Mr. Maxim Reshetnikov, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and officials, Myanmar Ambassador to Russia U Thit Lin Ohn, Russian Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Iskander Azizov, and Myanmar Military Attache (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Moe Kyaw.
The State Guard of Honour of Russia welcomed the Senior General in accord with the tradition of welcoming the state leaders who are on a state visit.He then took the salute of the Guard of Honour on the dais, while the Guard of Honour played the national anthems of the two countries.
The Economic Development Minister introduced the Senior General to officials of the Russian government and the Senior General greeted the welcoming party together with the delegation.Then the Guard of Honour marched past the Senior General.
This year marks the 77th Anniversary of Russia-Myanmar diplomatic relations and both countries are witnessing the progress in bilateral diplomatic relations, exchanging visits of state-level dignitaries, and multisector cooperation, and efforts will be made for further promotion of bilateral relations.
