Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who was on an official goodwill visit in Moscow, Russian Federation held talks with Speaker of Duma of Russian Federation H.E. Mr. Vyacheslav Volodin at he meeting hall of Duma this morning.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, SAC member General Nyo Saw, union ministers, U Than Swe, Admiral Moe Aung, Dr Kan Zaw, U Ko Ko Lwin, Myanmar Ambassador to Russia U Thit Lin Ohn and officials. The Duma speaker was accompanied by officials.
On arrival at the Duma, the Senior General and the goodwill delegation were welcomed by the Duma speaker, followed by a photo session.
At the meeting, topics on functions and structure of the Duma, formation of political parties, cooperation plans between the parliaments of Myanmar and Russia, SAC’s assumption of duties due to the vote rigging occurred during the 2020 multi-party democracy general election, preparation to hold a free and fair election, Russian support during the election, threats to national peace and stability due to the parties that take external support, formation of parliaments at all levels in Myanmar and type of the election, further promotion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and exchanged of goodwill visits between the parliaments of the two countries were cordially discussed.
