Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on an official goodwill visit in Russian Federation at the invitation of President of Russian Federation H.E. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, held a separate meeting with the Russian Federation President H.E. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin at the Kremlin in Moscow this evening at local time.
First, the Russian President warmly welcomed and greeted the Senior General, and then held a separate meeting.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, SAC member General Nyo Saw, union ministers U Than Swe, Admiral Moe Aung, and Myanmar Ambassador to Russia U Thit Lin Ohn. The Russian President was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Assistant Foreign Relations Officer for Foreign Policy of the President, the Minister for Industry and Trade, officials and heads of the cabinet.
In his greetings, the Russian President expressed pressure for holding a meeting with the Senior General a second time. He said the Senior General’s visit is very beneficial for friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
During the visit, both sides will be able to sign agreements for bilateral cooperation, and the mutual trade between the two countries is developing more than ever. The two countries are also cooperating on the international stage. The President reiterated his pleasure for the meeting in Moscow.
Afterward, the Senior General expressed his great pleasure to meet again with the President of the Russian Federation at the Kremlin palace, the landmark of the Russian Federation. He said it is the second meeting after the one at the 7th Eastern Economic Forum. Russia is a good old friend of Myanmar, and despite the distance, the two countries have close relations. The two countries have lived in weal and woe since yore, and the bilateral diplomatic relations have already reached the 77th Anniversary. The current talks are very beneficial for the two countries. He expressed thanks for the meeting.
Then, they exchange views on promotion of friendship and cooperation in the investment, education, defence, health and other sectors frankly.
Then, the Senior General and the President of the Russian Federation attended the meeting between the two countries.
During the meeting, ministers from the two countries discussed cooperation in the education and health sector, science and technology sector, manufacturing and trade sector, economic sector, health sector, space science and technology sector and other sectors. The Senior General and the President of the Russian Federation made supplementary remarks on their discussions.
Afterward, a ceremony to sing agreements and memorandums of understanding between the two governments was held and the agreement on customs tariff, the MOU on cooperation in the field of safety rules against nuclear and radiation in peaceful utilization of nuclear energy, the MOUs on cooperation in economic and technology in geology survey and mineral exploration, the MOUs on cooperation in space science and technology, the MOUs on health cooperation, MOUs on cooperation in the culture and sport sectors between the two countries and the agreement on the mutual recognition of education qualification and degrees between the two countries were signed and exchanged by relevant union ministers and the ambassadors of Myanmar to the Russian Federation and responsible officials in witness of the Senior General and the President of the Russian Federation.
Then, the Senior General and the President of the Russian Federation jointly responded to the question of the media and a joint statement will be issued later to the media.
