Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who was on an official state visit to Minsk, Belarus at the invitation of President Aleksandr Lukashenko of the country, left Minsk International Airport and was seen off by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus H. E. Mr. Maxim Ryzhenkov, Myanmar Consul General U Moe Kyaw Thu and officials at the airport this morning at local time.
Before leaving the country, the Senior General took the salute of the Guard of Honour at the airport.
The Myanmar goodwill delegation led by the Senior General arrived at Kurumoch International Airport in Samara, Russia, and was welcomed by Head of Samara government Mr. A.V Fedorishchev, the Russian Federation Ambassador to Myanmar and officials.
The Senior General and delegation arrived at JSC Progress factory of State Space Corporation “Roscosmos” and were welcomed by Director-General of the corporation Mr. Dmitry Bakanov and officials.
At the meeting hall, the Senior General and the Roscosmos director – general cordially exchanged views on the peaceful use of space technology by the two countries, launching of satellites by Myanmar in the interest of the nation and people, sending more Myanmar scholars to space technology studies, cementing of cooperation and friendship between Myanmar and Samara city and other areas of cooperation.
The director – general and officials reported on use of satellites for natural disaster monitoring, conducting research on agriculture development, protecting and conserving natural environment, satellite imagery and communication satellites, satellite launching, assembling of rockets and space station erection, and Russian assistance in upgrading and opening of a space museum in Myanmar.
Subsequently, the Senior General, and members of the delegation toured the satellite assembly and rocket production facilities within the JSC Progress factory of the Roscosmos State Corporation. They listened to presentations by responsible officials and engaged in additional discussions on matters of interest.
Following this, the Senior General, and members of the delegation were hosted to a luncheon by the Director-General of the State Space Corporation “Roscosmos” of the Russian Federation.
After the luncheon, the Senior General exchanged commemorative gifts with the Director-General of the State Space Corporation “Roscosmos” of the Russian Federation.
Similarly, the team, led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, who accompanied the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister as members of the goodwill delegation, held separate meetings with the Deputy Head of the Samara Region Government, the Regional Minister of Education, chairpersons of industrial and economic zones, and officials from the Progress Space Rocket Center. They discussed matters related to cooperation in the industrial sector, fertilizer production, energy sector, pharmaceutical production, education sector, and mutual beneficial cooperation between Myanmar and Russia, particularly between the Samara and Tolyatti regions.
After the discussions, the head for the State Administration Council’s information team, Maj- Gen Zaw Min Tun, responded to questions from the media in Samara regarding the goodwill visit.
Later, the goodwill delegation, led by the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister, departed from Kurumoch International Airport in Samara and arrived at Tolmachevo Airport in Novosibirsk in the evening, local time. They were welcomed at the airport with the Guard of Honour and by the Head of the Novosibirsk Regional Government, the Consul General of Myanmar, and other officials.
