I paid official state goodwill visits to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation H.E. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and President of the Republic of Belarus H.E. Mr. Alexander Gregoryevich Lukashenko. It is extremely good for the country as they officially invited me and I was able to pay official state goodwill visits. Moreover, I managed to discuss bilateral cooperation comprehensively with both countries during the goodwill visits to the two countries, especially matters related to economic cooperation and the expansion of exchanges between the countries, especially of the tourism sectors.
We were able to discuss matters related to education, science and technology, health, sports, culture, law enforcement and defence fields and the two countries fully accepted my clarification about political developments and changes. And I clarified the situation to hold a general election in Myanmar.
Then, they expressed their support and said they would send their observer delegations to the upcoming general election. So much the better, we can build a lot of trust through the bilateral meetings. I can see that both the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus as well as their peoples take greater interest in Myanmar.
It is a positive sign for us (the future country or the future of the country). And I told them I would hold a multi-party democracy election. I will do it staunchly. If a multi-party democracy system is really wanted, don’t oppose but cooperate in it. If we do so, our country will achieve success. I dare say our country will surely achieve success. This is my perspective for the people. Let me say this. I believe that success will be achieved in everything.
I wish all the people of Myanmar good health and ability to work towards development in everything. I would like to urge them all to cooperate if they believe in multi-party democracy. It is good for the country and thank you very much.
