Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who is on an official goodwill visit to Novosibirsk, Russian Federation, met with the Governor of Novosibirsk Region, Mr. Travnikov Andrey Aleksandrovich, this morning (local time) at the conference hall of the Grand Autograph Hotel in Novosibirsk.
The meeting was attended by the Senior General, the Joint Secretary of the State Administration Council General Ye Win Oo, Council Member General Nyo Saw, Union Ministers, Myanmar Ambassador to the Russian Federation U Thit Lin Ohn, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and officials.
Also present were the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region, the Russian Ambassador to Myanmar, and officials from the Novosibirsk Regional Government.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in an open and friendly discussion on the progress of cooperation between Myanmar and the Novosibirsk Region. They highlighted ongoing bilateral tourism and trade activities and emphasized that continued collaboration would further strengthen ties between the two countries. The two sides also discussed Myanmar’s academic trainees studying at universities in Novosibirsk, the direct flight connections between Novosibirsk and Mandalay, Myanmar, and the potential for expanding bilateral exports. They also discussed the potential establishment of Mandalay and Novosibirsk as Sister Cities, highlighting that this initiative could promote development in sectors such as health, education, culture, transportation, tourism, industry, economy, and commerce.
After the meeting, the Senior General and the Governor of Novosibirsk Region exchanged gifts and posed for a photograph.
