Ceremony to present offertories to Sayadaws who will be conferred on religious titles for 2025 was held at Aggadipati Sasana Beikman in the precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Park here this morning.Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla offered day meal to the Sayadaws.
Present were 118 Sayadaws from the country and abroad and two nuns who will receive religious titles led by specially invited Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee (SSMNC) Thanlyin Minkyaung Monastery Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candiama Bhivamsa, and Secretary of SSMNC Patron of Masoeyein Taikthit monastery Sayadaw of Dhamma Thamaindi pariyati school in Mandalay Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Maha Dhamma Kahtika Bahujana Hitadhara Bhaddanta Vaselabhivamsa.
The Senior General and wife were accompanied by Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, the SAC Secretary and wife, the SAC Joint Secretary and wife, SAC members and wives, union level dignitaries, union ministers and wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chair, senior military officers from Office of Commander-in-Chief and wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander and officials.
Before the inauguration of the ceremony, the Senior General offered meal in the Emerald Bowl and fruits, flowers, water and lights to the Maravijaya Naungdawgyi Buddha Image in the Aggadipati Sasana Beikman.
The ceremony was inaugurated by reciting Namotassa three times and the congregation led by the Senior General and wife, received the Five Precepts from the SSMNC Chairman Sayadaw.
Sadadaws then recited suttas.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife presented offertories to the SSMNC Chairman Sayadaw, the Vice-Senior General and wife, to SSMNC Secretary Sayadaw and the SAC Secretary and wife, the SAC Joint Secretary and wife, SAC members and wives, and other dignitaries, to Sayadaws who will receive religious titiles.
Daw Kyu Kyu Hla presented offertories to nuns who will receive religious titles.
The SSMNC Secretary Sayadaw delivered a sermon, followed by the sharing of merits gained and the recitation of Buddha sasanam ciramtithatu three times to mark the conclusion of the ceremony.
After the ceremony, the Senior General and wife and attendees offered day meal to the SSMNC Chairman Sayadaw, SSMNC Secretary Sayadaw, Sayadaws from the country and abroad and nuns who will receive religious titles.
