Global leaders send messages of condolences to SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing for loss and damage in powerful earthquake in Myanmar

Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Heads of Government from around the world continue to send condolence letters to State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing for widespread damages, loss of life, and injuries in the powerful earthquake which struck on 28 March 2025.

Due to the powerful earthquake, which caused extensive damage, loss of life, and numerous injuries, President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa of Mongolia, Premier of the Cabinet Pak Thae Song of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia have each sent condolence letters to Chairman of the National Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, expressing their deep sympathy.

The letter expresses that due to the earthquake that struck central Myanmar, causing significant damage and losses, they deeply regret the situation.

They are ready to work with the rescue personnel who are currently conducting search and rescue operations to save lives. They also assure that we are prepared to offer all possible assistance in emergency rescue and long-term rebuilding efforts, either bilaterally or through ASEAN, to provide support to Myanmar. The message expresses deep sympathy and support for the people of Myanmar who have lost their lives and family members due to the earthquake.

It emphasizes the belief that the people of Myanmar will overcome this difficult time and rebuild their social lives. It also expresses hopes for Myanmar to recover as quickly as possible to a normal state after the earthquake and for stability and peace to return to the affected regions. The message conveys condolences and prayers for those who have suffered. Moreover, it reassures that ASEAN will remain a trusted friend and ally for the people of Myanmar during this time of natural disaster. It further emphasizes that the collective efforts of all organizations will focus on saving lives, alleviating suffering, and rebuilding affected communities.
