Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing receives Special Envoy of the Government of Japan for National Reconciliation in Myanmar, Chairman of Nippon Foundation H.E. Mr.Yohei SASAKAWA; rescue and relief aid donated for earthquake-hit areas

Special Envoy of the Government of Japan for National Reconciliation in Myanmar and Chairman of Nippon Foundation H.E. Mr.Yohei SASAKAWA paid a courtesy call on Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at Tatmadaw Guesthouse here this afternoon and donated rescue and relief aid and accessories for earthquake-hit areas.

The Special Envoy of the Government of Japan for National Reconciliation in Myanmar and Chairman of Nippon Foundation presented rescue and relief aid– 50 backpacks, each containing 14 kinds  of earthquake rescue and relief tools, safety helmets for rescue and relief operations and one carton of gloves.

The Senior General accepted the donations.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Mr. Sasakawa cordially discussed scope of loss and destruction caused by the earthquake in Myanmar, arrival of international rescue and relief teams and rescue and relief aids, ardent operations of international rescue and relief teams in cooperation with their Myanmar counterparts, expression of special thanks to Mr. Sasakawa for donating earthquake rescue and relief aids in person, and Nippon Foundation’s aid program for donating food and other necessary items valued at US$-3 million for the people.
