Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Gen. Koji YAMAZAKI, the Chief of Staff of Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, who is on a goodwill visit to Myanmar at the invitation of Deputy Commander-in-Chief Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, at Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw this morning.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Deputy Commander-in-Chief Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief. The Chief of Staff of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force was accompanied by senior officers from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and Japanese Military Attaché to Myanmar Col. Kei TAJIKA.
At the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on promotion of friendly relations and cooperation between the two armed forces of Myanmar and Japan, cooperation at different levels, cooperation in training affairs between the two armed forces of the two countries, efforts of the Tatmadaw in solving problems over terror attacks committed by ARSA extremist Bengali terrorists on local people in Rakhine State, cooperation in anti-terrorism tasks between the two armed forces of the two countries, and responsibilities being taken by the Tatmadaw for restoring eternal peace in Myanmar.
After the meeting, the Senior General and the Japanese General had documentary photo taken together with those present after exchanging commemorative gifts.
