Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met H.E. Mrs. Dorothee Janetzke-Wenzel, newly accredited German Ambassador to Myanmar, at the parlour of Bayintnaung Villa, here, this afternoon.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Soe Htut of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and senior military officers.
At the call, both sides exchanged views on the matters relating to the bilateral relations between Myanmar and Germany and further cementing closer relations between the two armed forces, military practices and trainings of Myanmar Tatmadaw, the role of female military personnel, assignments of Defence Services military personnel representatives in the Hluttaw, the Tatmadaw’s continuous efforts for peace, stability and development of the country, concerted efforts of the government and the Tatmadaw to ensure peace and stability of the Rakhine State, and issues relating to re-acceptance of Bengalis who left for Bangladesh under the laws.
After the meeting, the Senior General presented the gift to the German ambassador.
