Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Mr. Yohei SASAKAWA, Special Envoy of the Government of Japan for National Reconciliation in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of Nippon Foundation, at the Parlour of Bayint naung Villa, here, this morning.
Also present at the call were Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). The Special Envoy of the Government of Japan for National Reconciliation in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of Nippon Foundation was accompanied by Executive Director Mr. Yuji MORI and officials.
At the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on endeavours of the Tatmadaw to ensure eternal peace in Myanmar, participation of Japan in the process and assistance for development of the regions which have restored peace, and its cooperation with the Tatmadaw in restoring internal peace.
After the meeting, the Senior General and the Special Envoy of the Government of Japan for National Reconciliation in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of Nippon Foundation exchanged commemorative gifts.
