Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with townselders, ethnics, departmental officials, war veterans and people’s militia in Putao this evening.
It was also attended by Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Ye Aung, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior military officers from the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army), Northern Command Commander Maj-Gen Nyi Nyi Swe, Deputy Union Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Aung Soe, townselders, local ethnics, departmental officials, war veterans and people’s militia from Putao.
At the meeting, the Senior General said Putao region has no difficulty to road access when it sees peace and stability. Lack of peace and stability may result in road block. It needs to seek ways for the food sufficiency of locals. The Tatmadaw is providing necessary assistance on a priority basis when the road access is blocked at the time of emergency. The Senior General also urged officials and locals to promote economy, education and health standards, to make efforts to boost yield and extend sown acreages for the regional food sufficiency and to ensure the drug-free zone.
Afterwards, the Senior General cordially asked locals about the region’s needs and coordinate officials’ and locals’ suggestions over peace and development of the region.
After that, the Senior General presented clothes and foodstuff produced by Tatmadaw factories, the Union Border Affairs Minister and senior military officers, foodstuff to townselders, locals and departmental officials.
Afterwards, the Senior General and party cordially greeted townselders, locals and departmental officials.
