Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received H.E. Mr. Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, at the parlour of Zeyathiri Beikman here this afternoon.
Also present together with the Senior General were Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo and Lt- Gen Soe Htut of the Offi ce of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and senior military offi cers. Mr. Song Tao was accompanied by Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Hong Liang, the military attaché and officials.
They cordially discussed matters related to strengthening the relations between Myanmar and China and promoting cooperation between the two armed forces, Tatmadaw’s participation in Myanmar’s internal peace process, cooperation in border peace and stability, the international community’s accusations against Myanmar without knowing real situation over the actions taken by the government and Tatmadaw in accord with the law against terror attacks carried out by Bengali terrorists in Buthidaung-Maungtaw region in northern Rakhine State, China’s support for Myanmar and assistance for Rakhine State development and exchange of rank-wise visits between the armed forces of the two countries.
After the call, the Senior General and Mr. Song Tao exchanged gifts and posed for documentary photo together with those present.
