Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and South-West Command Commander Maj-Gen Nyi Nyi Swe, inspected Pammawady Naval Region Headquarters in Pathein Station this morning.
At the meeting hall, the commander of Naval Region Command Headquarters reported to the Senior General on general staff, adjutant and quartermaster affairs, agriculture and breeding of the headquarters, growing of windbreaks and shade trees, undertaking of four military building tasks, providing assistance in the collapse of Myaungmya suspension bridge and transport of people, vehicles and goods by Navy-owned military vessel for smooth operations.
In response to the reports, the Senior General called on officials to carry out Tatmadaw-owned agriculture and livestock businesses systematically and then sell goods to members of Tatmadaw families at fair prices lower than those in external markets, to grow more shade trees and to perform regional development tasks.
The Senior General and party proceeded to the local battalion in Mawlamyinegyun. On arrival at the meeting hall, an official reported to the Senior General on the matters relating to general staff, adjutant and quartermaster tasks and the implementation of four military building tasks and Tatmadaw-owned agriculture and livestock breeding works. After hearing the report, the Senior General left necessary instructions and fufilled the requirements.
After inspecting the housings of families of the local battalion, the Senior General greeted the families, and presented foodstuffs to them.
In the evening, the Senior General and party arrived in Myaungmya. On arrival at the briefing hall of the project site of new Myaungmya bridge, officials reported to the Senior General on participation of the Tatmadaw (Navy) in salvaging the old suspension bridge and progress in construction of new bridge. After asking about things he wanted to know, the Senior General instructed officials of Myanmar Economic Corporation to prioritize production of necessary steel trusses for the bridge as quickly as possible.
As the Senior General inspected construction of the new bridge, officials conducted him round the construction site. After inspecting transporting passengers, vehicles and goods by land craft vessel from the Tatmadaw (Navy) to opposite site of Myaungmya, the Senior General gave necessary instructions and attended to the needs. Then, the Senior General viewed round the local battalion in Myaungmya and cordially greeted families and presented foodstuffs.
The Senior General and party looked into progress of building the war veterans’ housing in Pathein Station where an official conducted them round the construction site. In response to the reports, the Senior General gave necessary instructions and fulfilled the requirements. And, they inspected progress of construction at the war veterans’ housing.
