Nay Pyi Taw, June 15
Commander-in-Chief of Defece Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing hosted a dinner in honour of General Wei Fenghe, member of the Central Military Commission, member of the State Council and Minister of National Defence of the People’s Republic of China, at the villa of Zeyathiri Beikman here this evening.
Together with the Senior General were Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). Along with the Chinese defence minister were Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Hong Liang, Lieutenant General Peng Bo of the People’s Liberation Army of China and senior military officers and the military attaché to Myanmar.
The Senior General first welcomed the goodwill delegation led by the Chinese defence minister. Next, the military band played the anthems of both countries. The Senior General and the Chinese minister extended greetings and had dinner together with those present.
During the dinner, the Myawady music band under the Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare performed with songs and a variety of dances. After the dinner, gifts were exchanged.
Later, baskets of flowers were presented to the entertainment troupe and they posed for a documentary photo.
