Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a goodwill tour of Laos, accompanied by wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Lt-Gen Than Tun Oo and senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army),Myanmar Ambassador to Laos U Ko Ko Naing, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army,Navy and Air) Col Kyaw Kyaw Min and officials, visited Wat Ong Teu Monastery in Vientiane this afternoon.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing paid homage to the Buddha Image at the monastery and offered flowers, water and lights. The Senior General and wife and delegation paid respects to the Abbot Monk of the monastery who administered the Five Precepts.
Later, the Senior General and wife presented Pitakat treatises, offertories and cash donations to the Abbot Monk who in turn presented a Buddha Statue as a Dhamma gift. Lt-Gen Than Tun Oo and senior military officers presented offertories to the monks.
Merits gained were then shared. The Senior General and wife and delegation were conducted round the chamber where the 460-year old Ong Teu Mahavihan Buddha Image, the largest Buddha image in Laos,is placed, by the Abbot Monk. The Buddha Image was under renovation. The Senior General and wife offered flowers, water and lights to the Buddha image in the chamber.
Afterwards, the Senior General and delegation visited Office of the Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) in Laos. The military attaché explained salient points. The Senior General fulfilled the requirements.
Then, the Senior General signed the visitors’ book. The Senior General and delegation posed for documentary photo in front of the office.
