Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received H.E. Mr. Vijay Gokhale, Secretary of Ministry of External Affairs of India, at the Parlour of Bayintnaung Villa, here, this morning.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). The Indian Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs was accompanied by Indian Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Vikram Misri and officials.
They made discussions in a cordial manner, focusing on progress of cooperation in peace, stability and development of border region of two countries between the two armed forces, Indian ocean and regional security measures, exchange of information about prevention of danger of storms and natural disasters, bilateral cooperation in training affairs, progress of Myanmar on the path of multi-party democracy chosen by the people, efforts of the government and the Tatmadaw to restore eternal peace, and assistance of India for resettlement of Bengalis who left Buthidaung-Maungtaw region of Rakhine State for other country.
After the meeting, the Senior General and the Secretary of Ministry of External Affairs of India exchanged commemorative gifts before posing for group documentary photo.
