Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received H.E. Mr. Sun Guoxiang, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, at the Parlour of Bayintnaung Villa, here, this evening.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Than Tun Oo, Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). The Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs was accompanied by officials of the Chinese embassy to Myanmar.
Both sides cordially discussed and exchanged views on China’s assistance and cooperation in Myanmar’s peace process, Tatmadaw’s ongoing efforts in accord with the six peace principles on peace for achieving eternal peace, Chinese support for efforts of the government and Tatmadaw in the international arena regarding the Rakhine State issue and strengthening of the relations between the two countries and the two armed forces by ensuing border peace and stability.
After the meeting, the Senior General and the Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs posed for a documentary photo together with those present.
