Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands H.E. Mrs. Sigrid Kaag at Zeyathiri Beikman, here, this afternoon.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Nyo Saw, Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). The Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands was accompanied by Ambassador of the Netherlands to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Wouter Jurgens and officials.
At the meeting, both sides discussed participation and help of the Tatmadaw in political reforms of Myanmar in successive governments, firm standing of the Tatmadaw for the country which is on the path of multi-party democracy chosen by the people, efforts of the government and the Tatmadaw to restore internal peace, needs of correctness for information in Rakhine Issue, needs for unbiased assumptions, process to scrutinize and accept Bengalis who left for other country under the law in line with the agreement between Myanmar and Bangladesh, and full cooperation of the Tatmadaw with the Independent Commission of Inquiry led by former Undersecretary of State of the Philippines H.E. Ambassador Mrs. Rosario Manalo to provide necessary information.
After the meeting, the Senior General presented the commemorative gift to the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands and posed for a documentary photo together with those present.
